Can I Download the Photos/Videos in a Shared Album?

Yes! You have the option to download all the photos and videos in their original full resolution and quality. Follow these steps to get your files:

Web (Album Owner)

First, click “Shared Albums” at the top of the Memento Home Page to get to your Dashboard.

Click the "Download" link under your chosen album.

Click the orange “Download All Files” button to initiate the creation of a zipped file containing all the photos and videos in your Shared Album.

Your zip file is now being created. The Download page will automatically update when your file is ready.

Web (Album User)

Open your web browser and navigate to the shared album link provided.
Once the album is loaded, locate the Download Photos and Videos option. This is represented by an icon such as a downward arrow.
Click on the download button to initiate the download process (if you have folders, you can select which folders you would like to include, or Download All Files).
While the Zip file is being created, you can either leave the page open or just copy the URL and return to the link later as the download process could take up to 30 minutes, depending on the size.
You should receive an email when the zip file is ready as well, but once finished, you can select Download Zip File:
- Unzipping On Mac:
  1. Locate the zip file: Find the zip file you want to unzip. It might be in your Downloads folder or wherever you saved it.
  2. Double-click the zip file: Simply double-click the zip file. This should automatically unzip the contents and create a new folder with the same name as the zip file, containing all the files and folders that were compressed.
  3. Access the unzipped files: Once the unzipping process is complete, you can access the files and folders in the newly created folder.
  4. (Optional) Move or extract files: You can move the files or extract them to another location on your Mac by dragging them out of the unzipped folder.
- Unzipping On Windows:
  1. Locate the zip file: Find the zip file you want to unzip. Similar to Mac, it might be in your Downloads folder or wherever you saved it.
  2. Right-click the zip file: Right-click on the zip file. This will bring up a context menu.
  3. Select "Extract All...": From the context menu, select "Extract All...". This will open a dialog box.
  4. Choose a destination: In the dialog box, choose the location where you want to extract the files. You can either choose a specific folder or use the default location.
  5. Click "Extract": After selecting the destination, click the "Extract" button. This will start the extraction process.
  6. Access the unzipped files: Once the extraction process is complete, you can access the files and folders in the destination folder you chose.
  7. (Optional) Move or extract files: You can move the files or extract them to another location on your Windows system by dragging them out of the destination folder.
The files from the shared album will begin to download to your device. The time it takes to complete the download will vary depending on the size of the album and your internet connection speed.
Once the download is complete, you can access the downloaded files from your device.

iOS App

If you're in the mobile app, tap the Shared Albums tab in the bottom menu and select your Shared Album.

On the Shared Album Dashboard, choose the “Download” option from the bottom menu.

Tap the orange “Save” button to download all your photos and videos directly to your device.

In order to download the media in your Shared Album, be sure to grant Memento access to your photos.

Memento will then confirm that your photos and videos have been successfully added to your device library.
